FAITH-INDIA was started in the year 1989 at Ernakulum district Kerala by Prof. K. ACHANDRASHEKARAN (Late) was the founderDirector / President of the organization .He was a visually impaired person. As a person with disability he has keen inspiration to do something worthwhile for the most neglected section of the society – physical and mentally challenged poor children. Our headquarters located in Vennikulam, Ernakulum district of Kerala.
During the financial year 2012 April FAITH-INDIA was handed over toan anothercharitable trust- SABARI Trust. Now the organization is run by the SABARITRUST as its headquarters at Chennai by SHRI. P .SHASHIKUMARas its President. The trust build up the institution braving heavy odds and reached out to all the less privileged in the society i.e. differently abled children.
FAITH-INDIA implementing various projects and programs for the differently abled.Special School, Vocational Rehabilitation Center, Human Resource Development(HRD),Early intervention ,Guidance and counseling ,self-employment guidance& placement and other skill training programs are major theactivities to the afflicted, since last 25 years.
The intellectually disabled children are the most suffering among the differently abledphysically, mentally, socially and economically. They are neitherself-reliant nor communicative. Persons with different levels of intellectual disability need different types of services and care. So rehabilitation of the intellectually disabled has to be planned and implemented strictly in accordance with the individualizedrequirements. Therefor FAITH-INDIA has drawn up a comprehensive inter disciplinary and inter sectorial planned program of action for the purpose of the development, rehabilitation and welfare of physically and intellectually disabled children through specialized schools and other rehabilitation services.
FAITH-INDIA is thus a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) purely run by voluntary contributions from Friends and Well Wishers. Local donations are eligible for tax deduction under 80G of the Income Tax Act.
